Introduction

Swanton Morley VC Primary School is a very successful school that works hard to meet the needs of all children.  Our primary aim is for the children to work hard, enjoy themselves and learn through a wide and varied curriculum that provides real life context and experiences.  This learning also goes beyond the curriculum, enabling the children to develop into self confident, well motivated individuals with the ability to make positive contributions to society.

As parents you have an essential role in your child’s education, working in partnership with the school and supporting its aims and objectives.  At the centre of this partnership is a dialogue between home and school so that there is good communication, not just when there are concerns, but also when there are successes to be celebrated.

Starting at a new school can be a worrying time for both children (whatever their age) and parents; here at Swanton Morley we try to ensure that settling in is a happy, friendly and easy process that allows the child to quickly find their feet and continue to make good progress with their learning.

Swanton Morley Primary School has a close relationship with the British Army providing education for service children. This relationship has been long established and our school is used to children  joining and leaving, sometimes at short notice.  The movement of families to and from the area is very well catered for; experienced and supportive staff are the foundation of this school and we understand the implications of being a service child.  Our main aim is for all families to feel welcome and comfortable here, engaged directly in their children’s education and part of the school community.

The most recent Ofsted inspection (October 2014) reaffirmed the school’s previous “Good” judgement and also highlighted the excellent progress made by all children, as well as the consistently good teaching and very high standards of behaviour.
